Cities of Comenius

Our group, we talk about the Comenius Project cities: Girona, Büren, Aiud, Cusset and Oligate.

Girona

Girona is one of the four capitals of Catalonia (Spain).

Girona has 75000 habitants. The oficial language is the Catalan but also people speak Spanish because in Spain it is the official language.

The city is crossed by about four rivers: Ter, Galligants, Onyar and Güell.

The most popular monuments are the Cathedral of Girona and Sant Fèlix.

In this photo we can see the Cathedral and the famouses houses near Onyar river.

Not far from Girona there is the Costa Brava. A lot of tourists visit this places because are coast villages and there are a good weather, the beaches are quiet...

Büren

Büren is a small city with 20000 habitants. You can find a lot of nature so tourists who come out of a city will get fresh air. There are lot of villages around Büren, and the next bigger city, called Paderborn is half an hour away.

In Büren we have got 8 schools, in this picture you can see our school. We have a lot of activities. For example, you can go swimming, riding, walking, playing football, tennis, basketball and volleyball. Because of the cleaness of our two rivers, Alme and Afte, you can go fishing and swimming in the summer.

We have got many traditions, like "Schützenfest", that`s a German festival, where you go in a long march trough the city and dance. Two people, for a year will be the king and queen of Büren.
