The differences between our grandparents' life and ours.

Games have always been a way to having fun, but in the past teenagers played the classical games: table games, cards, dominoes, snakes and ladders, ludo, skipping rope... Nowadays we play with computers, the internet, video games better than those classical games.

The way of working has changed so the spare time has changed too.
In the past, workers worked 12-14 hours every day. Now, they usually work 8 hours/day, they have more money and their work is more comfortable. Most people began to work at the age of 13-15 while today people of our age study ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) till they are 16.
Workers only had one free day in a week: Sunday, but some less privileged people had no free day at all. Besides, they had no holiday: they always worked. Rich people were more lucky. They had holidays so they could visit their family or go to the beach.

Money was important because people who had more money went to different places, for example to the cinema, to trips and travelled, could buy a bike or have a radio and their children could have more toys. Now, people use money to have a computer, video games and internet, to go to shops, pubs, discos and cinemas and for many other things.

There are activities that now they are the same, for example going to a disco, but nowadays going dancing means something else. Girls, when they went out, were obliged to go out with a relative. Normally, her parents didn't let them go out alone. They couldn't enter pubs.
