CATALONIA

Catalonia is in the north of Spain. It's got its own culture and language. The name of this lenguage is Catalan. It has got a lot of traditions, the most popular are:

TOTS SANTS (All Saints):

People use to bring flowers to the dead people of their family (1st or 2nd November). In this traditional festivity we eat toast chesnuts, sweet potatoes and "panallets" (special little cakes made with almond and sugar). The adults drink sweet wine.

BERBENA DE ST. JOAN (Bonfire):

It is the shortest night of the year. This name come from a flower called Barbena. Nowa days,during this night, people make a fire and eat "Coca de St. Joan".

There are a lot of festivities too.

The traditional food is:

-Bread with tomatoe.

-Potatoes omelette.

-Catalan soup.

And finally, ower national hymn is called "Els Segadors":
