|
First of all, we'll show you were we are and explain about our country, Catalonia. It is situated in the north-west of Spain and is has four provinces (look at the map). A lot of catalan people don't agree in being a part of another country, Spain. They want to live in an independent country. |

The donkey is a reivindicative ideology. It's an adhesive that we put it in the vehicles. It has been promoted by the campaign "Planta't el burro". First of all the adhesive was only in the bookshops in Girona. But now, It's in all arround Catalonia. It's price is 1,5€. |

The donkey is a typical animal of our lands, but it's in extinction danger. For that reason the Catalan spirit identifies itself, because our languages, customs, traditions, (the culture) are disappearing and we have to promote it. The donkey is an intelligent animal, insistent, humble and a good worker and allways knows the way. The success of an initiative like that it would not have been possible if we were not able to laugh about ourselfs. |

The idea was born in Banyoles, in 2003. Jaume Sala and Àlex Ferreiro wanted to make a joke to a friend of them, but they created a new symbol for Catalonia against "the bull" which identifies the Spanish people. This bull comes from a very famouse wine in all of Spain, Osborne. The symbol was distributed all arround the country, you may have seen it in our rouds. |

Lleida and Tarragona follow the joke and now they're using "the cat"as a Catalan symbol because the have many cats arround, so the cat is one of the most typical animal in their towns. It has been created by the "Lliga Anticolonial", and it name is "Catigat". |
